Have fun serving breakfast
favorites from each country to celebrate their culture. If later in the day,
serve appropriate lunch or dinner entrees associated with each team.
Uruguay –
Milanesas, which is meat covered with eggs and breadcrumbs then fried and served
with over medium eggs.
Netherlands
– One to four slices of bread topped with jam, peanut butter, chocolate
sprinkles, or ham and cheese with a boiled egg and a glass of “karnemelk”
(buttermilk).
Germany –
German pancakes or crepes topped with applesauce, cinnamon sugar or syrup.
Spain –
Torrijas or Spain’s take on bread pudding or French toast served with freshly
squeezed orange juice.
Turn your living room into a
stadium by hanging each country’s flag and a backdrop of South Africa’s
dedicated fans. Make sure to have plenty of seating visible to the television.
Play a DVD of past classic games and great World Cup goals to set the mood.
Cause a raucous by organizing a sweepstake. Bet on the minute of the first goal
scored or the total of offsides calls. Just have fun with it and enjoy
celebrating with the rest of the world.
Good luck!!!

Finally after many years Soccer is catching on in the United States as well. Lovely idea to create a food dish from the country that is playing.
