A recent email from a mom looking for party ideas for a Monsters Vs. Aliens movie-viewing party has inspired today's post. She's skipping renting out the theater's party room and is opting to have cake and ice-cream at their home, plus it would guarantee everyone would be getting to the theatre at the same time.
Setting The Mood
Take a party cue from Birthday Express's table; set the tone and save a little cash by mixing and matching print and solid-color table decor, i.e. if you order the plates, use solid-color cups and spoons.
Hang lots of neon balloons upside down from the ceiling, with tons of streamers and you're set!
What To Do
I'm in love with these monster pillows from Oriental Trading! They can stuff their own pillow and squeeze it through the movie.
Check out these alien invasion masks from FamilyFun. Wouldn't they be a hoot glowing in the dark theatre?
The MunchiesSet up a make-your-own-monster sundae bar, like the one featured in this monster party.
Build more excitement as you head out to the movie. Create alien goody bags; lime-green paper bags with black paper ovals for eyes. Fill the bag with their slime, Pop-Rocks, glow sticks and monster head suckers.

My son is havib=ng a monsters vs. aliens party Saturday and I've been wracking my brain for ideas. I decided to make BOB jello jigglers. Blue jello, free-hand the cut-out (he's easy enough!), a dollop of coolwhip and a choc chip for the eye. Once I have a pic, I'll pass it along. Also, I'm still considering Pin-The-Eyeball-On-BOB...I don't know yet on that one. But still a cute idea and easy to make with poster board.

As promised here are my BOB jigglers and they were a HIT!!!
I had to use real whipped cream for the eye, the cool whip began to melt...
Oh, well forget the pic...won't allow me to post one! Oh well!
