A Poem Party?

Wow, that's incredibly cool! To tie it in, perhaps you could pick a theme and ask guests to choose within that. Perhaps a country theme, or a decade.

What a fabulous idea for a party.
You could print out some inspirational poems relating to each guest and put them under glass dishes where they will be seated or make teeny tiny wine charms with little poems on them

This may be implied with your party theme, but what if you asked guests to write a poem about their favorite holiday tradition, be it when they were growing up as a kid or now? It could be really fun because then you could learn a lot about your friends and things they love about the season. Ask each guest to read their masterpiece during dinner or cocktails...I love this idea. I may have to steal it.
