Simple Summer Decor

This time of year, a lot of us have more lemons than we know what to do with so... remember that one of the easiest, least expensive, and gorgeous decorations you will come by is a bowl of fruit. Used as a centerpiece, on a front hall table or in a bathroom, beautiful fruit is simple yet striking. Sticking to one type of fruit in an arrangement, thoroughly washed, makes for the most elegant display. I like to keep my fruit seasonal as well, e.g., in the summer I use lemons and limes, apples in the fall and cranberries in the winter. Also, play around with the type of container you use.  Consider large shallow vases, votives or easy white bowls like this one from Williams-Sonoma.  Really, the options are endless and it can all be done in under 5 minutes.
