Informal Wedding Invitation Wording

Many people are choosing a non-traditional wedding and tossing all the traditional formalities to the wayside.  Even though you are letting your creativity shine through, don’t forget to mention 1) who is sponsoring the event, 2) what the invitation is for, 3) what day the event will take place, 4) what time the event will take place, 5) where it will be held, and 6) if there is a reception following and at the same location or someplace else.   Here are a few suggestions for less formal invitations:

We're getting married!

You're invited to attend
our wedding event
On Saturday, September 2, 2011
Sunrise 7am
Wild Park
Yellowstone, CA

John & Lisa

Or

Our marriage will be a fairy tale…

Jeri Lynne

Ben Scott

Some people want to acknowledge that this is there second wedding, with wording such as:

As we celebrate new beginnings, new dreams, new love
at the marriage of

5 o'clock in the afternoon
Salinas Botanic Garden, CA
Dinner and dancing to follow

Second weddings with children, may want to honor their children by mentioning them in the invitation.  Here are a couple examples:

Janelle Anna Marie
and
Matthew Luke Perry 
as they exchange marriage vows
and together with their son, Quinn, celebrate their family
etc.

Or

At a celebration
Of the marriage of
Linda Peters
and
Peter Zigler Friedman
And
